There is a chance that the latest challenge to Wisconsin’s mask requirement could be different.
Businessman and Republican donor Jere Fabick on Tuesday asked the Wisconsin Supreme Court to strike down the mask mandate and Governor Tony Evers’ latest emergency order. This is not the first time the court has been asked to step-in, but it is the first time the court has been asked after lawmakers overruled the governor. The court has said in the past that lawmakers could act on the governor’s emergency orders. They did, but the governor then issued a new order. That change likely means the court will have to decide on just how far the governor’s emergency powers go.
