There were National Guardsmen, cops, and armored vehicles at the Wisconsin Capitol over the weekend. There were, however, no protesters. The FBI warned states last week that armed protests were planning to gather at state capitols over the weekend. That didn’t happen in Wisconsin.
The action that we did see wasn’t political.
It was simple drunkenness, not a political statement. Madison Police say the man who drove his car up the State Capitol steps Saturday night was drunk. Officers quickly arrested 44-year-old Willie Burks from Madison. Madison Police say this is Burks’ third OWI arrest.
