Lawyers for Wisconsin’s governor are asking the state’s Supreme Court to uphold his order limiting crowds at bars and restaurants, so he can issue another one.
Governor Evers’ administration yesterday told the high court that they want to issue another public health order as soon as possible. The court heard arguments yesterday in a legal challenge to Evers’ original crowd limit order, the state’s Tavern League is leading that case.
The court’s conservative justices are skeptical, given their other rulings that have said Governor Evers needs to work with lawmakers if he wants to continue to use his emergency powers during the coronavirus outbreak.
