Officials at Madison’s hospitals will not require COVID-19 vaccinations of their staff.
UW-Health, UnityPoint Health-Meriter and SSM Health tell WKOW-TV that staff will be free to choose whether or not to be inoculated. At UW-Health those who refuse the vaccine will have to complete a form and specify the reason why. SSM Health officials say a survey of its staff shows over two-thirds would choose to get the vaccine.
On a larger level, the White House is celebrating the announcement that the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine will be the first to get emergency use authorization to get one step closer to the end of the pandemic.
Deputy Press Secretary Brian Morganstern says it is news all Americans have been waiting for.
