Holiday Spending and Stage Traditions Shift

Americans plan to spend about ten-percent less for holiday gifts.

CNBC All-America Economic survey found nearly 40-percent say they’ll spend less during the pandemic than they did a year ago.  About a third blamed lost wages or income, while others cited the coronavirus and the poor economy.  The survey found Americans plan to shell out less than 890-dollars on average.

Along with the spending changes this year, there are stage changes as well. New York City Ballet’s holiday tradition of the Nutcracker is going online for the first time.

Last year’s performance will be streamed on Marquee TV today through January 3rd.  Tickets are available online and cost 25-dollars.  The production also features more than 60 children from the School of American Ballet.
