The bigger picture of Wisconsin’s coronavirus numbers is relatively unchanged.
The state’s Department of Health Services yesterday reported three thousand additional positives and 22 new deaths. But DHS also reported a drop in the number of people being treated for the virus in the hospital. Wisconsin’s public health managers are bracing for what they expect to be an uptick in the number of coronavirus positives after Thanksgiving.
There’s a new way for folks in the Chippewa Valley to quickly find out if they have the coronavirus. UW-Eau Claire is offering rapid tests at Memorial High School each Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday for the next few weeks. The tests take about 15 minutes to give people a result.
Doctors say the benefit is that people who test positive can go straight home and start their quarantine. The tests are free and open to anyone in the community.
