As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office has been unable to partner with Marshfield Clinic and the Eau Claire City-County Health Department to participate in the bi-annual drug take back programs, typically held every spring and fall, at the Eau Claire Marshfield
Clinic.
However, with the assistance of the Eau Claire City-County Health Department there are still secure disposal options for unused, unwanted, and expired prescription medications.
Outside door C1W, on the west side of the courthouse, a permanent disposal bin has been installed. This disposal bin is monitored 24/7 for security purposes and is accessible to the public 24/7 for the disposal of medications. We ask that during these unprecedented times, you utilize this drop box for your medication disposal, to help stop the potential spread of COVID-19.
Recently, the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office was able to dispose of approximately 2500 lbs of unwanted, expired, and unused prescription medications collected from this disposal bin throughout the year.
