Eau Claire city leaders heard plenty from the public at the city’s meeting on its public health ordinance.
A line of people told city council members last night that they don’t like the idea of a more powerful health officer being able to shut down businesses. They are also worried that the new health ordinance could also close schools. Only a few people offered support for the new rules. Eau Claire is still looking to approve the rules that would give the city-county health department more power to “manage” the coronavirus.
