President Trump is now in Cleveland, Ohio, hours before his first matchup with Joe Biden.
He arrived with two of his children and didn’t do any last minute prep work on the plane. Trump reportedly spent less than two hours preparing for tonight while Biden put in much more time with mock rehearsals.
Biden will have at least three guests in the audience, which is much smaller due to the pandemic. The presidential debate begins at 9 p.m. Eastern, 8:00 here our time.
Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson and other city officials are addressing the city’s concerns of unrest during today’s presidential debate. Cleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams says the National Guard will be present in the city today.
Jackson says today’s debate is historical and very important as the two candidates are so different, not only in terms of personality, but their ideology and approach to life. The mayor was asked if there would be a curfew imposed today during yesterday’s press briefing, which he replied to by saying there are no plans to do so but that could change.
