High school football can be played in Eau Claire this fall. Eau Claire’s city attorney yesterday said the county’s public health order does not stop high schools from offering so-called high risk sports like football, soccer, and volleyball.
City-County Health Director Lieske Giese this week said she is recommending that people not play, but she said she is not banning sports. Some parents were worried the county’s health order would mean no season. Eau Claire’s attorney says it’s up to each high school whether or not they want to play.
