MADISON’S STATE STREET LOOTED, GREEN BAY SETS CURFEW

More than a dozen people are added to the list of those arrested during a protest in Madison.  Authorities say stores along State Street were looted last night, property was damaged and graffiti was spray-painted on a number of buildings.  The demonstration started to get unruly around 10 p.m. when people started throwing things at police and an officer was hit in the face.  Fifteen people were taken into custody.

Meanwhile, a curfew will be in place tonight in Green Bay.  Mayor Eric Genrich says shots fired at a gas station during looting last night prompted his decision to enforce a curfew.

Authorities say looters were throwing things at police when they arrived at the scene and one officer was hit by a brick.  The timing of the curfew has not yet been announced.
