“MIDWAY” THROUGH WI FAIR CONVERSATIONS

There will be the annual 4-H animal shows, but the rest of the Dunn County Fair has been canceled.

Organizers yesterday said the rides, the concerts, the beer garden, and the food will be put on hold for a year because of the coronavirus. Even the livestock shows will be different. All 4-H shows will be done remotely.

In other parts of the state, the Wisconsin State Fair is still on. Planners yesterday said they are waiting to make a decision on whether or not to move ahead with August’s fair. The sticking point, the fair board’s John Yingling says, is crowd size.

He says the fair can draw 140-thousand people on a good weekend. There is no way to have that many people and maintain social distancing. Yingling says the fair is watching how amusement parks in Florida reopen before making any final decisions.
