Ninety-six-percent of people tested for the coronavirus in Wisconsin on Monday do not have it.
The latest numbers from the state’s Department of Health Services show that over four-thousand-700 people tested negative for the virus on Monday. Just 193 tested positive. That’s down for the fifth straight day, and comes amid a surge in testing, including here locally at testing sites. DHS says, overall, more than 112-thousand people have tested negative for the virus since March. A little over 10-thousand have tested positive.
From the case numbers, to other numbers, more people in Wisconsin are changing their minds about the governor’s Safer at Home order.
A new Marquette University poll shows Wisconsin residents still favor stay at home restrictions despite rising discomfort across the state.
Protesters have gathered at the state Capitol in opposition of Governor Evers stay at home orders in the last month. The poll shows 29-percent said closing schools was an overreaction to the pandemic in May compared to 10-percent in March. The poll also showed support of state and federal officials handling of the coronavirus pandemic declined from March to May.
