Fewer people are coming down with the coronavirus in Wisconsin.
The state’s Department of Health Services yesterday reported the smallest one-day increase in cases since the outbreak exploded last month. DHS reported 87 new cases yesterday. That brings Wisconsin’s total to three-thousand-428 cases and 154 deaths. Governor Tony Evers says the state is flattening the curve, but he said he will not talk about when he hopes to reopen the state from his quarantine.
Here locally, Eau Claire’s city-county health department hasn’t confirmed a new case of the coronavirus in a week. Health department director Lieske Giese yesterday said the county is holding steady at 21 cases. There are 20 confirmed cases in Chippewa County, and nine confirmed cases in Dunn County.
