A two car crash turns deadly in Pierce County. It was on Wednesday, about 5:30 in the afternoon when the Wisconsin State Patrol and the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle crash on US HWY 63 at CTH Y, in the Town of Martell.
The initial investigation indicates that a Kia car driven by a 22-year-old female from La Crescent, Minnesota was traveling northbound on US HWY 63 and a Buick passenger car driven by a 91-year-old Ellsworth man was traveling southbound.
The northbound Kia traveled left of the center line and collided head-on into the southbound Buick. The passenger of the Buick, and 80-year-old woman, received fatal injuries. The driver of the Buick was transported by ambulance to an area hospital. The driver of the Kia was airlifted from the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
