Republican lawmakers in Madison are looking to do more for farmers. Lawmakers yesterday unveiled a seven-part package that they say will put money in farmers’ pockets and make it a little more affordable to farm in the state.
The biggest pieces of the package are a nine million-dollar plan to allow farmers to deduct the costs of their health insurance, and a 75 hundred-dollar tax credit that would give farmers in the state cash money.
The plans are up for a hearing this week, and maybe a vote by the end of the month.
