People in Wisconsin may soon need a license to drive a boat.
Lawmakers on Tuesday listened to a plan to change the law for young boaters. Right now some kids as young as 10-years-old can drive a boat without any training, but older teens cannot. Part of the hook to the new law is to try and make things safer when adults have too much to drink. DNR officers says having some safety regulations for young boaters could cut down on the number of tickets they issue to adults who’ve had too much to drink while out on the water.
