A man from Ladysmith who scammed a Chippewa County woman out of more than 100-thousand-dollars in cars, watches, and cellphones is looking at a few months behind bars.
A judge in Chippewa falls yesterday sentenced Andrew Conklin to eight months in jail and five years probation for embezzlement. Conklin pleaded guilty last week. Police say he conned the woman into signing for cars, opening credit cards, and spending thousands on electronics and jewelry that he was supposed to sell.
