The Wabasha County Sheriff’s Office in Minnesota says it has been notified by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension that human remains found in July and August are being identified as a missing Wisconsin man.
A DNA match resulted in the remains, two legs and a torso, being identified as having belonged to David John Sheridan of Pepin, who was reported missing after his sailboat was found unmanned at a camp directly across from his hometown in April. Authorities say the DNA information will be entered into a national database because Sheridan’s entire body has not yet been recovered.
