SNOW REMOVAL COSTS PILE UP

The folks in charge of the roads in Eau Claire County are hoping it doesn’t snow too much before the end of the year.

The county’s highway budget for snow removal is still reeling from last February’s heavy snow. County Highway Commissioner Jon Johnson says they started 2019 with over a million-dollars set aside for snow removal. He figures they have about 200-thousand-dollars left.

Johnson says the county usually spends about 160-thousand-dollars a month during the winter, so he’s hoping for a less-snowy November and December.
