LOCALS HOPE TO LIGHT UP SCHOOLS WITH SOLAR

A group of community members interested in donating 720 solar panels to
the Eau Claire Area School District will present their proposal to the Board of Education on Monday, November 4.

The group includes Memorial High School alumnus Cal Couillard from the Couillard Solar Foundation, an organization that would contribute half the panels. The other half would come from an anonymous donor.

If approved, ECASD would not incur any costs for the project, as the Couillard Solar Foundation would work to solicit donations to cover installation and long-term maintenance through the panels’ 25-year lifespan. The panels would be installed on the roofs of both Memorial and North High Schools.
