UW STUDENT NUMBERS DROP

There are fewer students on campus at UW Eau Claire this fall.

The University of Wisconsin System released this fall’s enrollment numbers yesterday. UW Eau Claire lost 346 students compared to last year. UW La Crosse added just 10 students. The numbers are not unique. Only five of the UW System’s 13 campuses saw enrollment increase this year. UW officials say the drop is a reflection of a drop in the number of college-age students across the country. T

Overall, the summery looks like this as the Madison campus says enrollment at satellite campuses is down 25-percent, while enrollment is up at UW Madison. The campuses in Green Bay, La Crosse, Parkside, and Superior all added anywhere between two and 292 students this fall. All other UW campuses lost students.
