WI COULD CRACK DOWN ON REPEAT OWI’S

Wisconsin lawmakers are debating bills that would toughen OWI laws in the state.

One such bill would make a person’s first OWI a criminal offense and give a five-year mandatory sentence to anyone who kills someone in a drunk-driving crash.  Another would toughen OWI laws for people driving vehicles other than cars, like ATVs and boats.

Eleven bills in total will be voted on by a senate committee later this month.
