An accident leaves one man dead. It was on Wednesday August 28th, at about 11:23 a.m. when the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported single vehicle crash in the 24000 block of CTH CC in the Town of Cleveland. Upon arrival deputies located a single vehicle on its roof in the west ditch of CTH CC north of 240TH avenue.
A male, later identified as 50 year old Paul D. Schwab of Bloomer, WI, was found deceased in the west ditch near the vehicle. Based on the investigation, the single occupant and operator, Paul Schwab was southbound on CTH CC north of 240TH avenue and entered the west ditch at a high rate of speed. The vehicle overturned coming to rest in the west ditch ejecting Schwab. Alcohol is suspected as being a contributing factor in the crash.
