Governor Tony Evers and Wisconsin DHS are introducing a new statewide Injury and Violence Prevention Strategic Plan.
Officials say it’s the first plan developed alongside state partners and focus groups. It outlines five areas for reducing injuries, experience of violence and violent deaths in the state. The areas include child maltreatment and abuse, intimate partner assault, intentional firearm injuries, unintentional drug overdoses, and self-harm and suicide.
This marks the first prevention plan for the state in over a decade.
