Buffalo County has a new sheriff.
Governor Tony Evers announced the appointment of Jake Laehn to fill the vacancy left with the resignation of former Sheriff Michael Osmond. Laehn — a 15-year veteran of the department — will fill the remainder of Osmond’s term, which is set to expire in January of 2027.
