Alcohol a Possible Factor in Motorcycle Crash

The Wisconsin State Patrol and the Washburn County Sheriff’s Office responded to a crash with injuries on US 53 southbound at mile post 155.

Preliminary evidence from the crash scene indicates a Harley Davidson motorcycle was southbound on US 53 when the motorcycle operator struck the left rear corner of another vehicle. The operator of the motorcycle lost control and came rest in the median.

During the course of the crash investigation, troopers found evidence that the motorcycle operator may be impaired by alcohol. The motorcycle operator sustained life threating injuries and was medically transported to Spooner Health Hospital before being flown to a Duluth hospital. The crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
