Drivers in Chippewa County can expect to see extra impaired driving enforcement throughout the month of August.
The Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office and the Cornell Police Department are taking part in a statewide impaired driving enforcement grant aimed at removing impaired drivers from Wisconsin roads.
Sheriff Travis Hakes says crashes caused by impaired driving are preventable and is reminding drivers to plan ahead by choosing a designated driver or arranging a safe ride home.
Extra enforcement patrols are scheduled for August 12th, 13th, 15th, 19th, 20th, 21st, 26th, 27th and 29th.
