Chippewa Sheriff Travis Hakes recently expressed gratitude for donations made to the jail. Below is his message:
Hello,
In the last week the Chippewa County Jail has received two tremendous donations.
Friday, at the Grand Re-Opening of the Lake Hallie Walmart our Office received a check for $2,000 towards our programming opportunities for inmates while housed in the Chippewa County Jail. These programs are instrumental in the recovery and re-entry of those in our care. These programs are vital to that success.
Today we received a donation of $500 worth of books from the Chippewa Falls Library. These books are available to our inmates to read while they’re in our care.
Both donations assist our efforts in lowering recidivism, and providing the best level of public safety we can to everyone in our County.
