A man accused of trying to kill a woman inside a La Crosse storage unit has been found competent for trial.
Prosecutors say that Freeman Cole tried to strangle the victim to death in October of 2023. He had been found not competent for trial earlier this year. Cole has pleaded not guilty to charges including attempted first-degree intentional homicide.
