Dane County is in the top five when it comes to deer-related crashes in Wisconsin.
Data from the state Department of Transportation shows Dane County ranked fourth on the list with 792 crashes involving deer in 2025. A total of nearly 17-thousand-800 vehicle crashes involving deer took place across the state last year, an increase from the year before. This year, six people were killed in those crashes and over 700 were injured.
