A robbery investigation in western Wisconsin briefly prompted a school lockdown Thursday morning.
Police in Cornell responded to Citizens State Bank just before 10 a.m. As a precaution, nearby schools were placed on lockdown while officers secured the scene. Authorities say 40-year-old Kevin Rassmussen, of Woodville, was taken into custody on a charge of attempted robbery. The lockdown has since been lifted, and officials say this was an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the public.
