Menomonie Upgrades Playground

“Three hundred and sixty three elementary students voted on which of the three proposals  looked like the most fun and it seems to me that they chose well.”

-David Schofield, Director of  Public Works

The Menomonie Area Chamber & Visitor Center in partnership with  the City of Menomonie is delighted to extend a warm invitation to all community members, kids, and kids at heart to join us for a special ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of a new playground at Phelan Park in Menomonie.

The celebration will take place on Thursday, June 19, at 3:00 p.m. at Phelan Park (1200 21st Ave E, Menomonie, WI)

This $300,000 investment in community recreation features modern, inclusive play equipment designed to  serve children of all ages and abilities. The new playground replaces outdated structures and provides a  vibrant, safe, and engaging space for families to gather and play.

“The new playground at Phelan Park is a result of thoughtful planning, available ARPA funding, input from  the Recreation Advisory Board, hard work by the Community Services Department and Northland  Recreation, and input from the real experts on playground design … Kids!” said David Schofield, Director of  Public Works. “Three hundred and sixty three elementary students voted on which of the three proposals  looked like the most fun and it seems to me that they chose well.”

The ribbon cutting ceremony will include remarks from city leaders, freeze pops for everyone, and an  opportunity for children to be among the first to enjoy the new play area. Community members, partners,  and media are encouraged to attend and join in this celebration of progress, play, and partnership.
