Initiative Connects Campus to the Country

The University of Wisconsin is taking steps to improve healthcare in rural communities of the state. 

The Orion Initiative aims to invest in the power of partnership between the medical community and frontline rural providers for better healthcare in rural areas.  University officials say this will be accomplished by providing full scholarships to students who show a strong commitment to practicing medicine in rural Wisconsin communities post-graduation.  The Orion Initiative has been funded by a private donation.
