May is National Water Safety Awareness month. With this in mind, summer is fast approaching, and families will be heading to the waterways in Wisconsin and beyond for summer activities.
Eau Claire Fire and Rescue and the Water Safety Task Force have created a water safety program to present to the Eau Claire School District’s 5th graders as part of this year’s spring prevention programs. This program will teach students about the inherent dangers of water and provide them with the tools to keep themselves and their families safe. Beginning April 22, personnel will present the aforementioned water safety program, as well as first aid information to the district’s 4thgraders.
