The Eau Claire Fire Department (ECFD) responded to a rescue call for a person who fell through the ice on Half Moon Lake near Braun’s Bay.
When crews arrived, one person was found in the water with their head and shoulders above the ice in a shallow area of the lake. Dressed in cold water suits and using water rescue equipment, crews proceeded onto the ice and brought to the person to the shoreline where they were evaluated by an ECFD paramedic crew.
With varying ice conditions and thickness levels, caution is advised for any ice related activities.
