More Hunters, Harvest Down

More Wisconsinites are hunting for deer this year.

The Department of Natural Resources says deer hunting licenses increased half a percent to about 778-thousand this season. Those hunters harvested almost 90-thousand deer overall during the opening weekend this year, about five-percent less than the five-year average. Antlerless deer harvests, however, are on the rise. The DNR says final numbers will be released in January.
