The Wisconsin Governor is asking that the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office keep their investigation into Waupun Correctional Institution open.
Governor Tony Evers says he wants the investigation into four inmate deaths — which resulted in nine people being charged, including the former warden — open. Evers also wants the full results of the Department of Correction investigation to be released to the public. Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt said yesterday the cases are currently closed, but could be reopened at a future date.
