DNA Ties Suspect to WI Cold Case, Life Sentence Possible

It’s a guilty verdict in a cold case from the Fox Valley. A jury in Appleton yesterday convicted 68-year-old Gene Meyer of raping and killing a woman in Grand Chute back in 1988.

Prosecutors used DNA to tie Meyer back to the crime, they told the jury that science shows the chances that someone else killed Betty Rolf are 25-octillion-to-one. Meyer did not speak at his trial. He’s likely facing a life sentence when he’s sentenced in July.
