A Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper located a vehicle involved in a Felony Burglary involving firearms from the City of Eau Claire.
A High-Risk traffic stop was initiated at milepost 100 eastbound on Highway 29. Four occupants were removed from the vehicle before the driver fled from the scene. A pursuit was initiated eastbound with speeds reaching 117mph. After approximately 3 miles, the fleeing vehicle used a crossover and fled back westbound. As the fleeing vehicle reached the scene of the initial traffic stop, it crossed over to the eastbound lanes and traveled westbound in the eastbound lanes. A trooper quickly performed a successful pursuit intervention technique, sending the fleeing vehicle off of the roadway and ending the pursuit.
The driver was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for minor injuries. Two occupants of the vehicle were turned over to the Eau Claire Police Department concerning their investigation. Charges for the fleeing driver are pending investigation.
