New Virus Identified in WI Fish

Over a dozen new viruses have been identified in Wisconsin fish, including a type of coronavirus found in Walleyes.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources tests sport fish periodically.  Researchers at the University of Wisconsin SeaGrant program say the fish coronavirus is related to the avian influenza coronavirus that kills birds.  Researchers say it does not transmit to humans.
