Wausau Police Department Looks to Add Officers

Police in Wausau say they need two more officers to keep-up with the city’s homeless boom.

Police Chief Matt Barnes told a city council committee last night that Wausau’s homeless population has essentially doubled in the past five months, and he says the current police force cannot keep-up. He says he needs more officers to deal with calls from the rest of the city as well.
