Risk of Wildfires Could Increase this Spring

There could be an increase in wildfire conditions this spring in Wisconsin.

The Department of Natural Resources says the warmer weather and lack of snow cover will likely increase dry conditions this spring, and raise the risk of wildfires.  The DNR’s Andrew Sorensen says it’s not a matter of if these fires can start even this early in the year, they’ve already seen it happen.  There was a small wildfire in Fairchild, near Eau Claire, on February 3.
