The students from Suring Schools who were strip searched back in 2022 are getting 400 thousand-dollars.
A judge in Oconto County yesterday approved the settlement that will end the girls’ lawsuit against their former superintendent. That superintendent, Kelly Casper, stripped the six girls down to their underwear as part of a search for a vape cartridge. Prosecutors tried to charge Casper, but she walked away because state law doesn’t stop school leaders from strip searching students. Lawmakers have voted to change that law, in fact the new law is waiting for Governor Evers’ signature.
