Governor Evers says he’s open to a tax cut for retirees in Wisconsin.
The governor was a guest on Capital City Sunday on Madison TV over the weekend. He said he’s keeping an open mind about the plan from Republicans to make Wisconsin tax-free for retirees. The governor said he won’t support a plan that mostly benefits the very, very wealthy, but said he’s ‘open to’ the idea of a tax cut. Evers said he may ask Republicans to tie the tax cut to an increase in child care funding. The governor has been pushing for that extra child care spending since the federal coronavirus emergency order expired last year.
