Biden Remembers Kohl, WI Flags Lowered

President Biden is among those remembering Herb Kohl.

The White House yesterday issued a statement that called Kohl one of Wisconsin’s greatest-ever advocates. The president said Kohl was ‘a kind and principled man of integrity and character.’ Kohl served alongside President Biden in the U.S. Senate for 24 years. Kohl died Wednesday after a brief illness.

Here in our state, flags across Wisconsin are flying lower this week to remember Herb Kohl. Governor Tony Evers yesterday ordered flags lowered to remember Kohl, who served 24 years as Wisconsin’s U.S. Senator. Flags across the state will stay lowered until Kohl’s burial. There is, however, no word yet about a funeral or any kind of public memorial for Kohl. He died Wednesday at age 88.
