Madison Bakery Packs Final Dozen

A popular sweet shop will be closing doors.

Lane’s Bakery went into business in 1954, selling cookies, donuts, and classic Wisconsin Kringles.  Charles Lane is the grandson of the original owner and he’s worked in the bakery for 40 of its 69 years.  He and his wife Becky say they’re ready to let it go, but he says the transition is emotional and he’ll miss his customers most of all.  Lane’s Bakery will be open through Sunday.
