WI Gives Millions to MKE for Old Mall

The state is giving Milwaukee 15 million-dollars to do something with the old Northridge Mall, despite the on-going court case.

Governor Evers made the announcement on Friday. The money is coming from Wisconsin’s leftover share of coronavirus cash. The money can be used to help tear-down the old mall, including any asbestos work that needs to be done. It remains to be seen when, or if Milwaukee will be able to tear the Northridge Mall down. The mall’s owners continue to fight efforts from the city to demolish the empty building. They have an appeal pending before the state’s appellate court.
