Plea Deal for Teen After Bonfire Explosion

The teenager who tossed a barrel of fuel into a bonfire in Shawano County last year will not go to trial in the case.

Samuel Armstrong yesterday agreed to a plea deal that will avoid trial. Prosecutors filed 13 felony counts against Armstrong after he tossed a 55 gallon fuel drum onto a bonfire in October of last year at a farm near Pulaski. The drum exploded, and hurt several people. Armstrong is due back in court in February for his plea hearing.
