A former Milwaukee police officer is walking away from charges that he choked a man to death at his home back in 2020. A jury on Friday found former officer Michael Mattioli not guilty in the death of Joel Acevedo. Prosecutors say Mattioli choked Acevedo to death following a fight at his home, but Mattioli claimed he simply tried to control Acevedo after the fight. He says he acted in self defense.
